Today is Monday {linky}

Our first week of summer vaca!
All I have to say is, BRING IT!
We are so excited.
I am trying not to sleep in this week to get some organization going.
It will help us to get out of the house earlier.
My mom always says it and I am trying, lists, lists and more lists.

Her big brother decided she needed to be snuggled in with her giraffe and I walked into the living room to find her this way.
Melted. my. heart.
My eldest graduated from the missionettes program she has been doing since she was 3.  All the girls wear purple because it is the club's color.  She was beautiful and her dress?  My cousin found it for just 85 cents at a thrift!  Score!  I did tear up ... she is getting so old.  And she is so wonderful.  I want her to stay with me forever.

And the family...  The little guy and my redhead were also in the program.  Next year the little guy will join his big brother in Royal Rangers (kinda like Christian boy scouts).
Felt bad our little "Char" wasn't with us, but it was easier to leave her home with Aunt S- thanks Aunt S-  I also teach one of the classes and needed to present some awards.
I was thankful knowing she was at home.

The little guys last time in his rainbow program.  Why do they grow so fast?

And don't look now, but someone might be liking her bath!  Finally!

So, what do you have planned this summer?

Today is Monday {linky}

Hey, it's me.
Down here, under the picture overload.
Sorry about that.
Just too many not to share.
We are in our final week of school.
Loving it.
Hello- bring on the summer!
Bring on my kids being home. Bring on my beach.
With a baby that is too young for sunblock in tow.
No problem.
We've got this.

How about you?
What's going on?

2 Concerts and a Graduation

So, we are starting to wind down with the sports.
And we had a couple of events at school, but summer vacation is so close, I can taste  it.
My middle had her school concert.  And because the baby was just one week, I stayed home while other family went.  This included Daddy, the kids and 2 grandmothers!  Pretty blessed girl that she has so much family to step in.  I still felt bad I couldn't be there.

And her dress?  She described what she would like and Grandma and her big sister found it for her at Kohls and then Nana went to a far Kohls to get the correct size.  Again, she is blessed.

I was able to see the little guy at his school concert with the new baby and Aunt S.  The concert was on bullying and being responsible.

My middle guy had a "part" and took it very seriously.  He was so cute.

He had to wear white representing peace and of course, I could find no white.  Too small church shirt with the sleeves rolled up?  Check.

And pre-school graduation.  What could be more fun than 20 minutes with a bunch of parents in the room and snacks after.
Oh yeah, picking out a toy at toys r us afterwards!
And some cards with 5 dollar bills in them from your grandparents and your aunt.

I loved this time with him.  He is so happy.  And Dad came from work and went back to work after just to be there for him.  So sweet.

Can't believe our little guy is going to kindergarten next year!
But, I can think about that after the summer.

Today is Monday {linky}

Good Morning!
Hard to believe, this little girl is 1 month old! Time flies. We are having a great month of June.
How about you?

Sorry for the picture overload, but we think she is sooo cute.

She is slowly getting used to bath time, but it is not her favorite.
We have a lot going on with the kids finishing up school and some vacation plans coming up.
What's going on in your neck of the woods?

Spring Wreath

I love to make wreaths from stuff I have around the house. With this wreath, I used a tee shirt that was not being used, some scrap felt, yarn I had no other use for and a little bird I picked up and never used.

I start with a foam wreath, that you can buy at most craft stores and wrap the yarn around it.
Just keep wrapping until the wreath is covered, keeping it tight along the way.

I made my own template of a flower, a leaf and a circle that will serve as the base for my flowers.  If you do not want to do this freehand, you can search google images for templates.

Using a white tee shirt that I don't need anymore, I lay the template on top and start cutting out flowers. I cut about 25 because I am going to make 5 full flowers using 5 each of my cut out flowers.
I cut out about six leaves from my felt and for the 5 flowers, I cut 5 base felt circles.

I take one of my cut out flowers and pull it in the middle, bunching it up, I add a liberal amount of hot glue to the bottom of it and push it down on the circle base.

I use the same technique to glue on 5 of my cut out flowers for one felt circle.  I do this with all 5 flowers and then I lay them on my wreath where I think everything should go.
When I am satisfied, I hot glue everything onto the wreath.
I added a matching little bird and a coordinating piece of scrap fabric to hang the wreath with.

It is not that hard and easy to do while watching your favorite TV show.  And to make a new wreath, just cut off your yarn to get back to a foam base again.  These can be made over and over using material around the house or clothes you do not want anymore.

Happy Crafting!

Today Is Monday

And I am back!
Special thanks to M.C. for fixing my computer!
If he even reads this blog. lol I am up and running and so happy to be back.
Feeling more and more like myself after giving birth!
Went to church today for the first time.
Was a little out of sorts trying to decide when to sit in service or in the nursery and when the best time to nurse her was.  But I will get my groove back.
Charlotte is wonderful and fun and even though she doesn't sleep too much, we are really enjoying every minute with her.  Even the tired ones.

How are you?
