The Bun Maker {a tutorial}

So, my girlfriend, Sherry, came over the other morning to drop off a kimono for my younger daughter to wear to school, but that is another story....
Sherry had the nicest bun in her hair!

I asked her how she did it and she told me with this contraption in her hair!
She had bought the Hair Bun maker from the local drugstore for about $6.
I went to Sally beauty supply and bought just the bun thing for about $3 and change, but had to buy some clips to secure it for about $3 also.
Her kit had the bun maker and the clips (different clips) together.

Here's how ya do it.....   Put your hair in a nice pony tail (as opposed to a mean one, I guess :)

Place the bun maker over the ponytail holder.

Put your finger in the middle of the ponytail and spread out hair all around the bun maker.

Then, start to wrap all the hair around the bun maker and tuck underneath.

Now secure with pins.

Keep securing with pins- I needed quite a few to keep all the long hair in.

TA DA!  Keep moving the hair around to cover the bun maker.

I like the bun at the bottom of my neck- I did this with wet hair for work, because I was running late and I really liked it.

And this little cutie didn't mind showing it off ballerina style on the top of her head.  She said it could be casual....

Or a little dressy. ♥♥♥♥

If you have any questions, let me know.
There are also a ton of you tube videos on this topic.

  1. Woo hoo! That's me! I'm in a blog - I'm famous! :-)

  2. You can do this with a sock too.... without clips. I found a tutorial a few months ago on youtube. It's incredibly easy if you need more "kits" and have some unmatched socks lying around.

Hey! Thanks for dropping by- I love comments and read them all!
