Tempt My Tummy: Chicken and Steak Kabobs

I was trying to come up with something different and decided on kabobs.
I looked for recipes and didn't see anything easy, so I made these.

I cut up petite sirloin steak and boneless chicken breasts in 1 inch chunks.

I cut up chunks of onions, red and green peppers and tomatoes and zucchini from the garden.

I marinated everything in Good Seasons Italian dressing (you know, the packet you add balsamic vinegar and olive oil to?) and garlic powder in the fridge for a couple of hours.

Then when ready, I took wooden skewers that I wet first and started to load them up.

This took a lot longer than I thought it would and I separated the chicken from the steak. The husband thought it would be good to have both on the stick.
So thankful for his always "constructive" criticism. (wink)

When it came to turning them on the grill I used clothes pins! It allowed me to turn them without burning my fingers on the skewers.

They came out great! I made at least 50 of them and we had like 3 left! I served with them with white rice. The kabobs were a hit. The chicken and steak were nice and moist being cooked between the veggies.

Next time, I will marinate longer and probably omit the tomatoes- they were really mushy and fell off on the grill.

And I might do some shrimp. Or maybe scallops...
This is an easy recipe with possibilities.
