This is my softball team....well, not my team, but the team that I am on. There is about 30 of us.
We are not that good, but that is not the point. When our coach first asked our pastor if we could start a team, she had no idea how many women would show up and want to play. And feeling that everyone needed the fellowship, she allowed us all to sign up.
Realistically, we only need about 12 players for a team, but we make do.
I play catcher. At first, no one else wanted to play, so I signed on and got some major playing time, but was not very good. However, the fellowship and the amount of people that come to our games and have slowly trickled into church is the best part.
I am slowly learning. I can't decide if I am worse at catcher or when I am up at bat.
I really want to hit it far.
I pray the whole time I am up at bat, but so far, I have been content to make contact.
Today is our second to last game of the season. This is the last game where we have even a slight chance of winning.
So, if you think about it pray for the Herricanes on Long Island and pray that we win- it would mean so much to the women.
Or pray that we come close to winning so we have something to talk about. lol
1Cor2:9 "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him".
If you can't make the connection- I didn't at first either, but my coach referenced this verse and put the eye of a hurricane on our jerseys to go with the verse.
For fun, guess which girl I am.
Better yet, first person (who doesn't know me in person)who guesses correctly gets an extra entry in the CSN giveaway.
